Hi all, I intend to swap my carbs over this week, stupid question but I'm assuming that there are gaskets between the carbs and manifolds, if so does anyone know where I can get a set of said gaskets from? I've spoken to Burlen and they don't have any, they also say that they're not included in the rebuild kits they have

That's odd as the re-build kit that I have just used had them included! Got it off ebay from some bloke in Germany who seems to sell alot of re-build kits. I can fish out his ebay id if you want to get a kit off him, but if your carbs dont need a rebuild then I guess it's a bit of a waste!
Why not make your own?! all you need is some 1,5mm gasket material that you should be able to get from a motor factor or engineering supply place. Draw round the base of your carb flange, cut out, then cut the holes for the bolts and port...... not much more than half an hours work.

I like Domo's method, but if all else fails try:

http://www.gowerlee.dircon.co.uk/
Or (say it really quietly) your local Porsche dealer? They may laugh and ignore your messages (maybe it's just me?) but you never know.
I think they have sussed that I just ring up to set a benchmark by which other suppliers are then judged!

Thanks Gents
domo.....would it be this fella? if so it's a great price....

he says nothing about paypal though. In the past I've had to send bank transfers/cash in the post to other german evilbayers, which can be a real pain.
Gary.....hope that gearbox job's going well

wow what a nice fella, a prompt reply and he has accepted paypal, 56.00 Euro incl shipping, that's only about £40 for a 2 carb kit happy days...

Yep that's the fella!
Pretty helpful and darn good value in my opinion.
I can vouch for the quality of the kits as mine went together ok, only wrong parts were the o-rings for the mixture screws (too big) but apparently this is true for all Zenith re-build kits!!?

If all you want is the 6 individual gasket between the carb and the manifold I have dozens spare. There are loads in each engine rebuild gasket set. Let me have you address and I will send you a batch.

Gaskets arrived today Nick, thanks very much again, very decent of you to do that. The carbs are on the car now but have a small leak at one of the the banjo connectors, the fuel line looks a little tired so I'll replace that then try again, do you know if i can tighten the hollow bolts quite tight or they appear to have small washer gaskets should these be replaced if the hollow bolts have been undone?

The gasket style washers should be replaced every time they are undone. You should be able to get some from your local factor. DO NOT overtighten!
