Re: Under cover Resto
Just a few shots I took of the work thats been done so far, before going to Hedingham.
A question to those in the know,
What sort of money would you pay for this type of work?
Floors, floor edges, sills, heater tubes, parts of chassis, fuel tank support panel, door hinge, spots in rear inner wings?
Does £5000 sound about right or bad or good?
Just making sure I don't get ripped off, thats why the question.

Seems about right to me Karl
By the way the Porsche lifestyle magazine has a nice photo of your car from a previous ( rainy) Hedingham visit

Good to (briefly!) meet with you on Sunday, Karl.
Pack that mag in your bag Decapman as there won't be much of a cricket match this afternoon if this rain persists.

Sadly rain for Fri/Sat/Sun, great for racing but hopeless for lovely ladies in period frocks

When taking out the carpet before sending the car off for welding, I happened to find this;
key fob and glove box key.

Re: Under cover Resto
I think £5k sounds great for all that work.
Liking this thread. Have been getting seriously tempted to get my Pre A on the road and have some fun with its aged paintwork. I think it looks great. And it's funny - the guy who does the best restos in the world is really keen for me to do it too. It's catching on.

Re: Under cover Resto
At long last it's back, all be it in a rather more solid state than when it left.
Lovely new floors, longitudinals, heater tubes, floor edges, fuel tank support and all the othher bits around the edges.
I still have some work to do on it, but thats half the fun, ain't it!
It does occur to me that now my car is cleaner underneath than on top!
I have also discovered that once the paint has all flaked off, I can then polish it and I get a free shiny car, woohoo or not.
Engine bay just needs cleaning.
Fitted a lovely new Shield battery as the other had been sitting for three years nearly.
Need to find some covers for these relays
You know you some cars that are good and some that aren't, well this one has been good to me.
Whenever anything has gone wrong with it, it has always managed to get me home under its own steam
and I think this helps.......
Will try to post more often now I have my car back again.
You've got to love a Porker

In a world of over restored pension pots this is a breath of fresh air.
