Thought I had introduced myself back in 2011 when I first posted but could not find it, so he goes. Live near Chicago, IL USA have owned a Porsche since graduating college in 1979, first car was a 1973 914 2.0 in Signal Orange. Since I was very poor in the early years I had to drive this 914 year round and it met its death on a snow cover street two years later. I have owned 4 914's and 3 early 911's, currently own a '74 2.0 914 and '71 911 Targa. I love all vintage Porsches and enjoy hunting down parts to make my cars even better, I do drive my cars (even in winter time) as long as the roads are dry. I spend way too much time on the early911sregistry now and if I expanded to this site it would turn into 24/7. I do occasionally post for sale parts here because I know people here (like the early911s site) are always looking for good early parts. I have recently bought some parts from "Marek" I think he is a regular on this site, very nice man and a tribute to the early cars with his reproduction parts.
I also spend a lot of time on the golf course playing off of a handicap of 3. Have traveled several times to Scotland and Ireland to play their wonderful golf courses and have met some wonderful people over a couple of pints. My 2 children are now out of college and employed so my income can now be directed to getting my cars in top shape or maybe even acquire another one.
Hope I did not offend anyone with my recent FS post in the used parts, that was not my intent. I will try to be more of a contributor going forward. I attached a couple of pictures of my cars to enjoy. Thanks!

Mike

Welcome Mike

Can't think why you were contemplating selling that lovely targa last year. It looked like a top, original car. One external repaint if I remember.

Not into 914's but that looks like a nice example. Perhaps with the constructive discussion going on elsewhere on the rising values of early 911's and the 'unaffordability' for the average enthusiast, the 914 model is now the place to look for entry into the marque?

Glad you enjoyed the trips for the golf to our shores. You will no doubt have your eyes peeled to the tv this week to see who lifts the green jacket.

Enjoy DDk.

Regards
Mike
