Could someone better on the detail than me compare the engine shots from when Alan was selling and explain the difference in air filter setup? Is it correct that it has now been returned to period correct? Also regarding the Recaros Alan's ad stated the original seats were in storage and came with the car so I guess a bit of asset stripping/ replacement to original spec has gone on. Can it really have been 28k 18mths ago?
Thanks a lot

Hi All
This car was up for £32k when I test drove it at Alan's 18 months ago, I think the air filters have been returned to factory spec but I'm no expert.
I'd pretty much got my choice down to two cars back then sadly the finance fell apart, both cars are now back on the market and both cars are still rather nice but market has moved on and my budget hasn't... :?

All the best
Ian F.

Hi, I would need to check my files to answer specifics but I fitted the air filter which is a correct unit for the 68 car. We also re-trimmed the seats which were supplied to us and took the recaro replica seats in part exchange. I still have these tucked away somewhere. I have some pics if this helps anyone, just drop me a call. Our new parts/office manager starts on Monday so you may speak with Scott but we are happy to help.

Thanks

Alan

Sweet looking car and, if as nice as it reads and appears in the photos (with that decent history file) PLUS the S spec engine, makes it quite a reasonable buy, I'd say.

Ian, out of interest, and if you don't mind sharing, which is the other car you had narrowed your choice down to?

Hi Steve
I decided on the other car, that was the conda green 2.2 recently for sale by Terry Allen it was and still is a great car (I've PM you more details let me know if it didn't get to you).
I'll be looking for another 911 in April (if the tax man is kind)...

All the best
Ian F.

News flash, this car has just sold again via Maxted Page such a shame it has moved out of my price range!

Hello Ian,

No PM received - yet!

Terry Allen's car disappeared within 24 hours of the ad appearing - it did look a very sweet car and considering the connection between Terry & MP&P I'm not surprised that they had a buyer for it. I told Paul Stephens to snap it up what with it being local to him but by the time he clicked on the link it had already gone!

Steve.

Hi Steve
Not a lot in the PM except that the car was at MP&P and that if you where interested to be quick, what can I say, I only found out about the sale to MP&P on Tuesday...
Good cars don't seem to be hanging around if their at the right price...
I guess it a waste of time going the auction of the Ossi blue car for me, as I won't be in a place to buy untill April and watching someone else buy it is a little to voyeuristic and not in a good way...

All the best

Thanks Ian - car now marked as 'sold'.

I posted the link in the original 'Porsche Curves' thread as the photos show what a lovely car it is/was. Happy for the new owner - let's hope they find their way here. :)

Looking forward to seeing what you find come April. You seem to have your fingers in a lot of pies. Pass a piece my way, please.

Hi Steve
No pies, just to much time on my hands (and on Pistonheads) and never quite enough cash...
