I'm feeling like an expectant Dad again waiting for my car's rolling road result following its engine rebuild - it's at Bob Watson's at the moment...

look forward to hearing the results Did you have any 'before' figures from Bob's rollers ?

Unfortunately not although you've just reminded me that I think Alan (Canford) took it to Bob's just prior to selling it to the guy who owned the car before me so I guess there are some results somewhere (not in any of the documentation that I've got though).

Compression was down on a couple of cylinders just prior to its rebuild and it was a completely stock T engine so I can't imagine it was putting out that much in the way of HP.

Looking at the PMOs now though, I think I'll be needing a permanent petrol feed from my nearest petrol station....

So I've just been told that they got a corrected 202bhp out of it on Bob's rollers! Way more than I was expecting.

Waiting on a copy of the graph now....

Might be worth asking Bob if he's got the original graph; most dynos have auto storage so it might still be in the memory-banks..

Will post the graph once I get it. Hopefully it won't just be one massive spike at 8000rpm with nothing at all under 6000rpm....

Already done, although it would be back in 2007 so it might be asking a bit much.....will also email Alan to see if he kept a copy.

It's a standard T with first overbore, E cams and Omega high compression pistons (should be same as your new ones), new PMO's, new bearings etc. and ARP studs/conrod bolts and SSI heat exchangers.

To be honest, I just expected a little more torque and power over a standard T - didn't really do any of it to get loads more power. Just wanted the damn thing running properly again.

Has only cost me about £76 per bhp.....

Are you running the original iron cylinders? This sounds an interesting spec for when my engine finally lets go

Yep, original cylinders just rebored. Will be time to finally meet up soon!

it's nowhere near as bad as actually being there waiting for the engine to go bang. You know it won't but it might just.....!!

I went on an rx7 owners day to a RR in northampton somewhere, and they were just finishing off a tvr cerbra when I arrived (1/2hr early as usual). The owner wasn't happy with the numbers so wanted to go again and more revs.. Still not happy; another run with more revs.. Aaaaaaa-Eeeeeeee-bang! I've never heard such a horrible noise in my life!

What made it worse was they wheeled this smoking oil-dripping heap off the rollers and into the carpark, then said to me "right mate, you're next!" Eeeek!!

Here's the graphs from the run. Would be interesting to compare to other people's results on Bob's rollers if anyone has any they'd be willing to share?

You've now got a high compression 'E' motor ( think T & E heads are the same size ports ? . Great numbers, especailly the torque

Somewhere I have an old Bob dyno plot from my 2.4S in its previous 'worn' state .
