I saw this at the weekend.
It's an alloy hand beaten body over a Formula Vee chassis.

Wish I had more time to take a few more pics - will go back to the car meet next month and see if it's there again.
The young guy in the background with the white T was the owner / maker. Single (alloy) seater with a fly screen. Exposed rivets and some period decals. Soooo cool!

Inspirated on the Glockler Porsche. Mid engined racecar build just before Porsche introduced the 550.
The build topic on thesamba.com:

Just read the build from start to finish Ron from your link. Very talented kid, although sounds like he has a few master craftsman watching is back. Excellent

Wow. I saw it in a sea of 356s, special porsches and other cars like Lamborghini Murcis and ferraris and this just shone out as special.
I darednt go near it as I though it was from the 40's but the owner said, go on let your son sit in it! I didn't for fear of damaging anything but not only super talented but a super nice guy too!
Thanks so much for the link, I've been trying to find out more about it on various forums!
