I have a question.

When you give a firm an annoying txtspk name, how do you decide when to stop saving letters?

For example 2gevainsrnz is not only shorter but also sounds even more hip and down with the kids than 2getherinsurance does.

When you think about it you've only saved one key press with your version, mine saves a full 6 and is no more childish.

Samuel? Would you be the president of the Plain English Campaign by any chance? Or did you just get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

i actually tried to get a quote from your website but i accidentally clicked "yes" to criminal record or something similar and it bombed me out

Coincidentally, within the last half hour, the insurance company that covers the Landy called (third time this week) as the renewal is up. Here's how the convo went:

Would you like to renew today?
OK, but why do you keep calling, I said I would call when I was ready?
We're closed at the weekend and we didn't want you to miss the opportunity
Gee, thanks. I should tell you that someone ran into the back of me last year - another of my cars - and we are trying to claim against the other parties insurance
Could you hold?
Sure (then six seconds later)
We'll have to increase your premium by £40
That's a 13% increase, why?
Because
Don't worry then, I'll look elsewhere
Hold please (six seconds later) we can offer you a £40 reduction today
No forget it
Hold please (six seconds later) we can offer a £55 reduction
So £15 less than the initial premium even though you had to increase it due to the accident?
Yes
I openly laughed at the poor girl and told her as it was the only funny thing I've heard today I'd renew.

I give up trying to understand it, i just go with the cheapest person who gives me the level of cover i need

we went with admiral last year, and our multicar policy was 850. last week the renewal came through at just under 1600! the reason i was given was "inflation" which made me laugh, because its a little ahead of inflation.. also their APR has gone from 5% rep. to 28% if you pay monthly!!!
i went on confused.com and got two separate quotes from admiral which worked out at 839 all in for both, phoned back and asked about it and they said thats only for new customers.. ..so i laughed, called #2 on the list, and got mine for just under 400. my mrs got hers from the same people for just over 450

why are most big insurers they not interested in repeat business?

one other thing that gets me; amie was playing around with different settings on confused..

when she applied her additional years no claims (earned last year) the policy went UP £40!
when she changed from parking on the road to parking on a driveway it went up £8!
when she added a tracker it went up £200+!

WTF?!

surely 4yrs NCB is better than 3?
surely parking on a driveway is less risky than parking on the road?
and i thought trackers brought the insurance down? or is it a case of recovery/repair costs insurers more than a write-off?

as i said earlier in my rant, I give up!
