How to avoid a speeding ban

I collected a very rare 2.8RSR on Sunday at 12pm and travelling down the M11 I realised after a while it was just me the car and an empty motorway. The temptation to "open it up" was irresistible. I carefully checked my rear view mirror and there were no cars behind me so I pressed the accelerator gently and drowned myself in the orchestra of sound that accompanied the acceleration to 100mph. I checked once again and still no cars and I continued to enjoy the hard thrust and high pitched wailing as I accelerated further and the speed now reached 130mph. I checked once again and floored it and the car powered on until it reached 155 mph and that's when I noticed the flashing blue lights in my rear view mirror.
The police officer was initially more interested in the car than my exploits but due to my actions and the speed attained, over 160mph according to him, (Note: must get the speedo recalibrated) felt duty bound to report my offense nonetheless. After explaining how rare the car was and how anyone in my position would have done the same he made me an offer. He explained that it was near the end of his shift and if he was honest he could do without having to complete the paperwork so if i could him give him one excuse that he had not heard before he said would let me off.
I thought hard for a few minutes as my licence depended on it and after a while I gave it my best shot and said this.
"Officer, last week a policeman ran off with my wife. I had been married for 25 years. When I saw the flashing blue lights in my rear view mirror I thought you were trying to give her back !"
"Have a nice day Sir" and he left
