Hi DDK!

After lurking around on your site and not being able to join because of a"suspect" mail address i finally made it.

My name's Rainer and i live in the south of germany, about 20 km's away from Ruf - i think a few of DDK's travel group drove by my hometown this or last year. I've got a lovely wife and a cheeky 3-year old son (or was it the other way round? :? ). Broken cars (especially body and paint) are my companions during the week.

Since being 18 i always had a aircooled v-dub, bought them, restored them and then....because of training and studies had to sell them, because i was broke. Now being nearly 40 i'm lucky enough to keep the cars.

I will present my '71 targa and some of the other stuff later on in the right sections.

On this year's christmas party together with my "oldtimer-friends" (that are mostly in mercedes and british cars) we decided to do a road trip to the le mans classic in 2012. :drunken: :drunken:

So, please excuse my crappy english and give me some advice in the thread i will start. Thank you!!

Hi!

Thank you for the "warm welcome"!

@jury:
I live in the middle of the line between munich and the lake of constance.

@hot66:
Not a 500, it's a 320 diesel. Before that and before becoming mum and dad we had short 500.
It was nearly impossible to reach the 100km-boarder under 20 litres.
The performance isn't much better compared to the diesel because of the torque.
But it was fun - what a sound!
