Single master cylinder upgrade?

My 67 911 has the single circuit brake system, whilst I've got it apart is it worth changing the master cylinder and associated plumbing to the post 68 dual circuit? Will there be any advantage? or if it's properly maintained will the single circuit be just as good/as safe?

A dual circuit system is much safer and an easy conversion. It means you can have brake failure in one system and still get braking from the other.

Cheers Nick thats what I thought, the brakes are good and solid at the moment with the old system, so I might use it as is until I get all the bits, but it's something I would like to change for safety. Has anybody had any bad experiences with the single circuit brakes?
I assume it's best to get a 68onwards 19mm dual master cylinder which a few people sell, but I cant seem to find a source for the dual reserviors and hoses that go with them.... anybody? Maybe someone is breaking a later car and has this stuff going??

My '66 911S has single circuit brakes too.
I agree with Nick that it's a sensible safety upgrade, unfortunatly it's still on my to do list . . . .
I've had both a dual circuit & single circuit brake failure (both on Beetles)
The dual circuit went approaching a junction at slow speed & I stopped on the handbrake. The single circuit went as I came zipping up to a roundabout & found I really was going to have to give way. Shame I couldn't with no brakes.
Still to this day I don't know how I avoided an incident .. .. ..
