Optima batteries

Does anyone have any experience of Optima batteries - and where can you get them over here??

140 quid if i remember rightly for a 6V cylinder one.

I have had one in the 356 for about 3 years and have never had to charge it or had any problem with a low charge. Even after a winter of not using the car it turned over fine. As it is sealed, it is also much better with reference to rusting away the floor of your car too !

i have a teeny weeny odyssey battery for my 911, not installed it yet, cost 90 quid ish from http://www.batteries4u.co.uk may be an alternative to an optima

Fit it and use it Luke... Batteries like to be left charged up. If allowed to discharge for a long period, they can die and may never recover. Lead Acid batteries like to be left charged up. If you don't use the new battery, best to check it is maintained charged up.

Paul Crawford runs one in his '14. He got it from a Marine/Boat supplier as they are quite common in boats.
