O/T - 40 year old Dodge Charger and one owner....
I love this beautifully made little film about a guy who's owned his 40 year old Dodge Charger from new...

I reckon we can all identify with a lot of the things he says about keeping an older car for a long time.
Great story. Enjoy.

I've just tracked down a bloke living somewhere between Tokyo and Osaka who owns a red 1967 912 Targa - with the soft rear window. I found him from a video clip on Japanese YouTube which claimed it was the only soft window targa in Japan.
I disabused him of that, and sent him pics of my 1967 911S soft window, and the Porsche records in Japan are being re-written as I type to accommodate TWO soft rear window vehicles in this country.
He is an interesting character though, and also owns a 1959 356A Roadster - the Convertible D - and a 356A Coupe which he claims won the 1964 Japan Grand Prix.
What I thought was interesting though was that he said he had just sold his other Porsche, a GT3, with very low mileage, because he simply couldn't stand it. It was all too perfect to the extent it was boring, and he was now looking for some other older models of interest to asd to his collection.
I'm trying to get some pics of his cars to post here.
Cheers
Greg

Cool video and very cool car.
Takes me back to when I was into Mopar muscle cars and I tried to find a Charger in the UK.
I very soon got fed up with staring at my own footwear every time I checked the boot floor, man, did the European ones rust!!!!!!
The last straw was one described as in good condition that had rot in every panel even the roof above the windscreen!

I love the smell of burnt rubber and hydrocarbons in the morning, it smells of......victory.

That's a very good question... I'll probably get shot down for saying this on here but a Cayman R would be on my list, in the hope that I'll still be driving when I'm 90Ferry Man wrote:GT3 RS 4.0?tim78 wrote:What new car could I realistically buy now and keep for the next 40 years?

More importantly I asked Harry, who at 21 has a better take on buying something to keep for another 40 years. His choice? A new 911. So maybe a 991. He'd better get a job

BTW does anyone know somebody who has owned a 911 since new for 40 years? I remember chatting to a nice guy with a red T (?) a few years back at Beaulieu who has... I saw his car at Hedingham but not the driver... are you a DDker?
