10k would buy the engine ........................... but then of course I would need to replace it, and I know a drop in power would be a real struggle to live with. I guess that would mean something like 1720? perhaps a modified 912 motor with reworked heads, hi lift cam, balanced, flowed and built properly with proper parts etc ?
some decent carbs - maybe dellorto 45's?, a great exhaust system, electronic cdi ignition for a stable spark and perhaps a coupe of other tweeks (like a leaky rocker gasket)
I did say thinking wasn't my strong point, but it would be cheaper to keep my engine

Jeez some people are never happy.
Ok £12,500
Come on what are you thinking? There are impulse buyers out here with too many watches and not enough cars...

Tom - only have two wrists and two ankles at a push- the other option is unreliable at best
I am not a great custodian of wrist finery, but rest assured you are my second or third choice should I move into the realms of short shirt sleeves and pronounced regular time checks
