Graham, everyone keeps telling me film is back and very fashionable now, so I dug this out the other day. It's a brand new unused Contax TVS II
which I've had put away for a few years now, has one of the sharpest Zeiss lens I've ever seen and has all the bits, outer box, presentation box,
leather pouch, lens hood and cap set, wrist strap and all the paper work, manuals etc, a real collectors piece.

I'll sell it for £250, you will find used ones cheaper but this is as it left the factory.
I'll post pictures if you are interested.
cheers, Mike.

Thanks Mike.
I have a nice collection here from Pentax to Nikon to Kodak Retina Reflex IV which i think is a similar era. All are mint, some boxed.

Always wanted a Lieca and would like a camera i have to 'drive' rather than a point and squirt, i think you know what i mean.

An 80's/70's Leica appeals as it is small and a rangefinder. The Kodak is fab but weighs a ton and was my father's so worth too much to take on holiday.

Please do send a pic, but have to say a Lieca is really my focus...(sorry)

sorry Graham, I was just suggesting it to scratch the film itch, to go with an M8!

Titanium one on ebay @ $24K..

I would like to find a rangefinder 'modern' film version but there seems to be no middle price model at £500 ish secondhand.
Too many are less their lenses either!

Now i know why they are so aspirational!!

Here's your answer.
I've got a Leica digital camera. Keep it with me at all times.
If I turn it over I can make calls on it too......

Not much of a camera man but that M9 looks just "right".

Mike: I googled the Contax you mentioned and it look like a lot of camera for the money. It's a pity I'm no good with film. I need to take a fist full of digital photos and then delete all but one.

What is the collective expert opinion on an old Digilux 2 ?

The Digilux 2 is absolutely superb. Still to this day. Only 6mb but fantastic quality. I had one and regret selling it. I bought a Digilux 3 and it's not as good.
Some sensor failures on the old 2 but get a good one and you'll want for nothing. They take a picture that seems to have the Leica look.
5 star recommendation from me. Can't praise that camera enough.

And if you don't need the red dot (and you don't) then buy the Panasonic LC-1. It's the same camera without the Leica brand name.
Some real bargains on eBay if you can find one.

Just been googling the two cameras. Huge price difference and the Panasonic reads-up very well indeed.
Red Dots are sexy though..

They are digital not film.. :?:

Just read a review and it says the view finder on the two camera is flawed, small and low resolution.
Any thoughts? I wear glasses (I'm near sighted) and have had issues in the past with some cameras even by focusing the eye piece..
