Hi guys, can't believe i've only just found this site but glad i have!

i have a matching numbers '54 Pre A, (my dream car since vw days!) that sadly has taken ten years to almost get to paint! Its in the States being restored as and when i send funds. I first toyed with getting my fave colour of fish silver or even radium green but the original colour of pearl grey is nice and quite rare apparently so would probably like to keep it original spec, although prefer tan/blue/grey over the red seats it has.
The car sat for 25 years and was driven (with a couple of breakdowns!) 3000 miles back to Oregon to strip down..

i'll try and sort some photos at some point. Huge emotional investment as well as ££'sss!

Have you pre A guys kept your dash's/door caps original darker colours??

have some importing questions i'll add in another section, thanks for reading!
Brett

Welcome Brett.
I hope you find the forum useful, can't wait to see some photos of your car.
The dash and door tops are always a dark colour, this is to minimise the reflection back onto the windscreen (it can be bad even with a dark colour).

I have a friend with a Pearl Grey car. Let me know if you need any pictures.

Hi Hendrik, thanks for your reply..appreciate it, yes I'd read about the reflection issue and was asking generally as most cars I've seen restored paint the dash body colour! Would love to see pics of your friends car please, will pm you..will look over your cars if you have pics here, nice collection!
Regards,brett
