Need a new pipe - the Kadron on my engine will likely be too loud for the iva.

Can you let me know what fits the rear body/valance and is quiet enough to pass IVA? I quite like the EMPI monza 4 tip or GT systems.....

Got mine custom made in stainless from longlife exhusts. good price and well happy with it. Before that I had a monza 4 tip. It was OK but didnt last very long.

Steve I assume they had to have the car to make up the pipes?

Did yours pass IVA with Monzas?

Whatever you end up with in order for it to pass IVA it's 99 d/bells or under.

The thing that's unfair for the test is with the engine being in the rear the mic they use is also placed to the rear, which if you have a rattlely engine this can increase the d/bells. So if you buy an Exhaust that states 95d/bells, chances are it will fail with the added engine noise. If it was a front engined car wouldn't be a problem.

You'll proberly end up buying a standard beetle exhaust then changing it when you've passed.

I used a type 4 exhaust with 2 boxes and just passed at 99d/bells.

I had mine custom made, the guy stuffs the exhaust to make it as loud as you like, so have it stuffed before test then have it modified after for your own soundtrack.
Chap at Stafford did mine in Stainless steel just how i wanted it. I had a choice of tailpipes from twinstyle ovals to triangle honda types your imagination and he makes it.... cheap too. Mine was about £120 ish

I think theres a longlife down in bristol which is closer for me - I will give them a call and see if they have a template for beetle lumps....

otherwise I still need something to get me through IVA then see the, later in the year (which year tbc lol)

Yea They need the car, as they made up the exhaust in situ.

Sorry cant help you with wether a Monza will pass IVA.

anyone know if a standard vw beetle exhaust will fit the speedster?

I have the Euro Twin Tuckaway fitted AC2513602 in SSP book about £135
Not sure if it is below 90dec mind you does sound loud at times .

Depends how the body sits relative to the floor and suspension height etc...

however, it is not completely impossible. You may have to bend the tailpipes a little for them to clearance the rear part of the body.

ended up going for a bugpack quiet single muffler. Fits ok although needs a profiled end pipe to meet IVA as it sticks out very slightly - I will cut this right back and look at CBS for a tailpipe.

Will do for IVA then I will get a nice system made up post IVA.

While its being fitted I am replacing some of the tinware for chrome - glam it up a little.

you don't need to put a new tip for Iva. You only need one if it sticks out past the bumper ( or if you want to call it external) If your cutting it anyway, just cut it an inch before the bumper end and that will pass. That's saved you a few ££££
