Where's the best place to get dampers for my 1967 911(SWB)?
What is the difference between LWB and SWB dampers? will later ones fit my car?
Do I have to work out which type of front strut I have? as I have heard there is a difference between Boge and Bilstein/Koni inserts.
Grateful for any helpful info.
cheers

i can't help on the first couple of questions, but yes you need to know what struts you have, easiest way to tell is colour;
Red: Koni
Green: Bilstein
Blue or Black: Boge
Yellow: Can be either Koni or Bilstein

According to Pelican parts the rear dampers are the same 65 to 71
The rear dampers changed at '72 to a slightly longer stroke and larger diameter. At the same time the damper mount on the trailing arm moved back 10mm to stop them hitting the driveshaft.
Front dampers changed September 68.
Have a look here:

hope this helps

The front strut for SWB cars is completely different to LWB cars. You can buy the inserts from Roger Bray or Berlyn Services, they are about £250 the pair. The rear dampers are available from the same sources

I think I have single new front insert which was bought for a 67.
How does £50 sound ?
