Just curious.
Andy's (sprintstar67) thread got me thinking on the Chamonix 356/550 replicas.
So who has one?
What are they like to live with?
What's the drive like?
Build quality?
Standard drive trains etc?
Show me what you have and what you like/dislike.
Cheers matt

Not lived with one but we had a 550 for a few weeks.
Quality wise it was rather better than others. Nice thick woven composite type bodywork instead of the usual GRP means all the panel gaps are good and everything shuts properly. Lots of attention to detail like pressed aluminium covers to hide disc brakes and make them look like drums.
The motor was twin-plugged with an 8 plug dizzy and a few other nice details. Claimed 125bhp but didn't go like a 125bhp Porsche...
The drive was exactly as you'd expect - like a Beetle but windier.
I rather liked it. So long as you don't expect a sports car driving experience there's lots to like. They are a better quality product than any other rep I've seen.
