Anybody called in at Specialist cars of Malton Lately?
He has a cracking 3.0RS in black and gold.
Not for sale, they are just doing a bit of work on it for the owner and waiting for the salt to buggar off before the owner collects it.
The gaffer of JCB.
38,000miles and mint.
John says only 6 exist RHD road versions. Is this correct?
Anybody an idea of what its worth, John did give me a value and its jaw dropping.

if its the car i suspect it may be running a twin plug engine .......do u recall reg?

Woud suggest as RHD, IRO £300-350K......THERE WERE ONLY 6 .....not sure if the engine change makes it better or worse however if the car i reckon it is the owner will have kept the original engine !

Question then...would it be more or less if LHD?

A Swiss friend of mine just bought a gorgeous red one LHD .............he lives in London mainly, there were only 49 in total and 6 were RHD .............does that command a premium Jason ?

I think in such case provenance of the car is more important ..................then we both know there are folks who want one or the other and will pay accordingly ...............

Is this an orig. RHD version (black car above) ? If so , it has to be 460 9098.

460 9092 / AFN - McAlpine (Blue)
460 9097 / AFN - J. Tordoff (Red)
460 9098 / AFN - D. Pennel (???)
460 9099 / AFN - Lord Hesketh (Yellow)
460 9100 / AFN - N. Faure (White)
460 9103 / A. Hamilton (original color ? / Now white , and still in
Aus. as of recently)

Anybody know any history to share on who 1974 RS 3.0 RHD original owners : David Pennel &/or 'McAlpine' were ?

I don't find any period race history associated with this type of car to those names. But then again , I'm not very deep into UK track racing history.

Thx

Perhaps the rarest of the lot has back seats from new!

The only one raced regularly was Nick Faure car , think entered by AFN..................AFTER ALL THEY WERE MEANT AS ROAD CARS

Here's a picture of the Faure car from the blurb released when it was imported.

And here is some more of the blurb.

Would love a visit up to Mexboroughs lot. When did you last go?
He's somewhere up North Yorkshire way.
I'm one of the organisers for TIPEC South Yorkshire region and wouldn't mind organising a group trip up there this summer. Does anyone have any contact numbers.
Cheers
