Stockholm to Taxinge Early 911 Rally 2004.

Post by Jonas »

The inofficial Stockholm to Taxinge Early 911 Rally 2004 (9.11).

So, finally we got the majority of Stockholms early 911s together (for the first time since dackefejden). We all met in the park area of Stockholm, and pretty soon, eight great looking 911s (69' - 73') were lined up - ready to go.

We started off for the motorway part of the rally in a nice tidy line, pretty soon the white 911S 71 (owned by Christian Lepee) decided the oil temp was just right for some "active driving" - they disappeared in the horizon. Needless to say; all of us taged along with a wonderful chaos as a result. No matter where you looked, the three lane motorway was ful of 911s jumpin between lanes, overtaking sleapy Volvo drivers on all sides. (Now, a camera and a helicopter would have come in handy).

The second stage was the 30 minutes drive on the winding countryside road to Taxinge Castle. This was a blast, one 911 that really showed us how fast one actually can drive on small and dangerous roads was long time DDK member Tommy (Editors note: He had his one year old son as co-pilot, and his wife in the back seat! Well Sofia - you are a brave woman and a rollmodel for all Porsche wifes!).

After many dangerous overtakes, some confusion, and a lot of recklessness driving, we all came to Taxing in one piece . A very amateurich but vivid lineup was created, and coffee was ordered.

Let's hope the DDK flyers handed out to all 911 owners this day will generate some new DDK members.

Thank you Butzi for a grand day out.

Great pics Jonas

PS. I do think Christians 911S with a 2.8 RS engine were the fastest car on those narrow roads
