It's (not surprisingly) been up for sale for years & has been ridiculed (rightly so) on every Porsche forum (including DDK several times) during that time !

apart from the price, whats the difference between the above and say a chesil or one of those gt40 replica's?

I admit, its not my cup of tea but it looks the part ( to the untrained eye ) dont think I could swallow the price tag mind you.

Chesil's and "those gt40 replica's" actually look very similar to the real thing. This looks somewhat different, shall we say

The difference between a Chesil and the 'good' GT40 replicas is that they actually look like the vehicle they're trying to emulate. This 917 replica doesn't even remotely come close. I've noticed the ad shows a couple of photos of the real deal for comparison.

This replica really needs a VW Beetle engine in the back and a price alot less than a 10th of what they're asking. Then it might not be so ridiculous.

Someone has put a load of work into it, particularly the drivetrain, but the end result is just shocking!

I've seen the car in the flesh at a Porsche Show some years back, and the car was nicely finished , but as a bodyshape replica is quite frankly ..........ghastly.
Everything about it screams WRONG.
Its been for sale forever.

Worth the sum of its parts and no more.
