Hi guys My name is Lewis and I have just added to the collection of cars the my self and father have. I have a 72 bug, my dad has a 66 bug and we boith own a 1956 11 window split bus thet we are currently finishing off the body work prep ready for paint. And now I have recently just brought my dream ride a 1961 356B T5 for resto.
The car orininally came from California and I brought it from a guy that shipped it over with the intent to restore it bud found that he did'nt have the time so thats when I stepped in . Here is a pic of her, she is in bloody good nick, with only the battery box floor, fuel tank floor and a few patches on the floor pan in need of replacement. I have most of the parts aswell which is a massive bonus. The only parts I have missing so far are the rev counter, lock in the gear stick headliner and front screen, I hope you like her and my aim is to give her a subtle ish outlaw style bye for now chaps

looks like that'll keep you busy for a little while. i'd be so tempted to seal it like it is rather than re-paint it.

That looks nearly done to me - some widened steels and orange perspex windows and your there! Welcome again

Hi chaps thanks for the reply's but don't think I will be keeping it ratty not really a fan myself. As for the wide steels yeah got a pair of 15 x 5.5 J @ the Windsor show that was in sept was looking as something like this rough Photoshop image so far subject to change obviously, but fed up with seeing 356's on grey steels so thought of when I re-do my interior in blue currently red (dont like red) I'll match the steels in a very similar blue, hopefully will look pretty good but until I do a rattle can test on a old vw wheel will not defiantly commit myself, as for the car colour it will most definatly end up its original colour Heron Grey

Hi Roy thanks mate will be starting her next year though got our bus to finish first.

Quick update got a windscreen from a nice chap (Dave) today for her, goes by the screen name Ren on here so that's something else to cross off the list
gave me a ride in his beast as-well first time I have been in a 356 what a blast still grinning now thinking about it especially when he had the arse end sliding out on a rounderbout

It's a slippery slope downhill from here.

Hi M8, glad the screen is ok. One less bit to get on that big list. Body looks better than mine. A bargain too boot. Not sure on your choice of colour wheels. You might change your mind when the body is all done and paid for....keeerrrrchhhiiinggg. Silver is a safe bet but satin black does look the nuts. No bumpers? You will have the same issue that all t-5, t-6 and C owners have.... number plate lights! Go GT style and keep bumpers but with no over riders..IMO...It also makes the car look more like an A when you see it in your rear view mirror.
