I don't normally fit narrowed beams to my speedster i don't really see the need for it , n
Every car i build has different wheels on them , so the sizes are different every time , the last one had a set of porsche 5.5 on it ,

What wheels have you got on yours ?

I fitted dropped spindles to a chesil many years ago with 4 stud 5.5 chrome rims on it and had problems with clearance i had to take them off again .

Got 5stud chrome 5.5j with 185/65/15 with disks up front on standard stubs with adjustable beam. Thing is having clearance probs now I've lowered the front. Got some 4.5 j with 165x15 to try this weekend. Got a pair of dropped spindles to put steering geometry back alittle but l know if l fit them they increase the track. So don't want do that if already got clearance probs. Thought about getting my mate to mount the wheels in a lathe and take of the welds on the back, adjust backspace and reweld but just wondered how others get over this clearance problem when dropping ride height.

Have you tried the new wheels yet , how did they fit

How low do you want to go with you speedster ?

I have cut and rewelded wheels in the place you can grind the weld of with a grinder which is easy . but the rewelding is much harder

leave it to a pro :)

thanks but not looking for any wheels, just trying to overcome a clearance problem when dropping the suspension.

Had the same clearance problem fitting early van wide 5s over the front hubs with 4" CBs without fouling. On a 181 but the issues are the same... used 25mm spacers which gave the merest hint of clearance but worked nonetheless. Worth trying without spreading the track too much
