I haven't yet seen the article so you're ahead of me there.
Matt (the photographer) said he'd let me have copies of the photos but he was understandably reluctant to forward them before the magazine hit the news stands.
Hopefully the text will speak well of the early car and I trust the seventies Porsche got to the fore in some of the shots.

As I understood it the premise of the article was a review of the 993 and 2.4S as close cousins - but a more affordable option - than their esteemed contemporaries, the iconic RS of '73 & '95.

I'd better track down a copy. Did we really make the cover? :)

The subscription copy usually has a different cover but on that yes, early 911 in the front, a great shot

Good article. Suggests 993 is a better drive for the money but praises the 'S' too

Although I love my 993, having both, and driving them back to back, I'd disagree .. on a twisty country lane, the 993 is faster, but with the 2.4S you feel like you & it become one :drunken: ... I have still yet to find a car that give me this feeling. If price was'nt an issue, then the early car is way more FUN & would natuarlly be the choice of the 2 :) ..... of course in reality one is £40K more than the other , so wether the early car is worth the extra is an entirely personal thing and very dependant on what you value in a car bought purely for driving pleasure .

I can see you driving your S listening to The Spice Girls - Two Become One, moistened eyes, sensually stroking the dash top as you drive along.

It's a good article. Praise for the 'S' throughout. I think the view that the 993 is a 'better drive pound for pound' is qualified when comparing the cost of the two cars used for comparison. With close to a £45-50K difference (as suggested in the article) the 993 offers a great driving experience at a much lower price.

I love the pic on the cover.

Well, I've very kindly been sent a couple of subscriber copies by Mark Dixon (author of the article and Deputy Editor).
It's wonderful. A nicely written piece and illustrated with superb shots.
Can't argue with the verdict either.... :)

I thought the media whore label might have been a bit harsh, however....

Don't think you'll find it in the shops yet. The cover maybe different for the newstand version.
