Too lovely for words, you don`t often see these 2.2Ss for sale and never in that condition. $95K is £60k in real money... I`m due a win on the premium bonds.

I'd take your recent purchase as all the luck you need for the next month... premium bonds the month after

- this is a fantastic looking car - and in real money terms pretty reasonable too. interesting comment from the USofA about 'the best are always expensive' or similar... at 60k, its not even that pricey, based on other s's ( Helens fab car apart ) - or am I missing something?

anyway - I know nothing of values etc but it looks stunning so with my sons 100 worth of premium bonds likely to come in for a big win this month, I'll book the flight in anticipation....

it won't be £60K by the time it arrives over here though, as you'll have shipping, duty + VAT

I don't think it's a top top price at all - I thnk it's about right for a LHD car of that spec in a wonderful condition.

It might be a little bit pricey imported to the UK, due to shipping fees, import duty and VAT, but you'd be looking at about £75-85K for a fully restored RHD S.

The UK weather would soon put a patina on those underbody nuts and bolts , so reach for the waxoyl. Have been crawling under my own '69 911 which is in pretty good shape but not like the one here. This 2.2S is destined to pass to another collector methinks.

That's why I said it's about right for a LHD car, in that market.

What's wrong with the 2.2? It's questionably the best S in terms of high rev fun with a dog leg 901 gearbox!

I think that some people under estimate the value of these cars. It's not as if any more are being made and good cars in great original or fully restored condition are going to continue to rise in value.

The days of cheap classic 911 motoring are pretty much gone! Solid or good condition RHD cars are now £30K+ and fully restored cars are £40K+, depending on spec.

Never said there was anything wrong with the 2.2.

But your £75-85k value would be more appropriate to an absolute mint RHD 2.4S rather than a 2.2S IMHO.

I follow the values pretty closely and in the US, even for an absolute minter, this is top top money

There are still some extremely good cars come up for sale in the US at decent prices....and the £ is rising against the $ again...

This customer doesn't want yellow, he seems to prefer blue. And the customer is always right!
