CLM 2010 - DDK Karting Nord Campsite info UPDATED 5/7/10

bit of info regarding the DDK camping :
1. The campsites do not open until 2pm on the Thursday. It is unlikely you'll able to blag your way on before this ..... so enjoy the drive down
2. When you receive you tickets, you will have been allocated a pitch number. Karting Nord will have been marked out with corrosponding marked pitches & in theory ACO officials will show you to your pitch when arriving.
Because DDK have booked 65 pitches, all next to each other, we can be flexible about where people camp etc. As long as we respect the access roads we are free to pitch out tents where we want, so if there is a group of you who want to camp together, this will be possible as long as you don't use more space than your pitches allow. On this note, please don't get upset if you turn up & find your pitch number has a tent on it as there will be other pitches that are clear
If there are any problems please search me out & I'll try & sort it
3. Just in case anyone is expecting DDK to have organised anything else ..... we haven't !! What you get from the DDK camping package is the ability to camp in club camping with fellow DDKe'rs. DDK have not & are not organising any events, food , drink etc etc . In other words, as with most DDK events, we are having a laid back approach to things
For anyone who has not been to LeMans before, please ask around as there are loads of DDK'ers who have & I'm sure will help you out with advice etc on where to go & where to watch etc etc
4. In complete contradiction to point 3. ..... we are planning on having a DDK drive from Karting Nord , to the Mulsanne Straight with a planned stop at the 2nd chicane. We aim to have a photo opportunity here. This will be 9.30 am on FRIDAY MORNING
We are assuming 2 things ...... that the Mulsanne isn't getting closed until midday & that the chicanes are open. IF THE POLICE MOVE US ON WE"LL HAVE TO CALL IT A DAY !
The plan is to leave Karting Nord at 9.30 am. We have up to 65 cars, so to enable all to leave the site safetly please don't hang around waiting ... just drive to the 2nd chicane & meet there. When at the chicane, park up in a 'fan style' to enable us to get all the cars on.
Please be considerate on the Mulsanne as we don't want DDK bring into disripute .... the police WILL be monitoring this area, so no excessive speeding.
Once we have done the photo, my plan is to drive up the Mulsanne ( north ) turn around at the top roundabout & head back down to drive as much of the circuit as I can including Arnage etc as this will be the last chance to do this before the roads are closed.
For info, practice sessions for the racing start 3pm Friday. Tracklaps for some clubs are 8.30 pm Friday
5. Based on 24hr Lemans gossip, the Police were out in force handing out massive fines & confiscation cars for excessive speeding ..... be careful !!!!!
