Heh, yes I was suprised at a Frenchman wearing such a stylish pair of shoes.

Will be conducting exhaustive tests this weekend with every thing from a flipflops to a nice pair of stilletto heels.

To business... I seem to recall that there was a thread covering a list of must take items when driving on the continent. I remember a road triangle was a must have.... do yo need high vis vests ?? and one of those GB plates on the engine grill ??

Can someone point me in the right direction, don`t want to disappoint the Gendarmerie.

I think there was a list on here last year for Le Mans - there is a member who lives over there who knows the rules I think. Either the AA or the RAC will have it on their website.

From what I understand you definitely need:-

Red triangle
High viz jacket (for all passangers?) Wasnt reqd legally but now is?
Set of replacement bulbs for the car - all of them including the interior!
Fire extinguisher
Copy of all of your documents
Driving licence - 1000 Euro fine for not producing according to the French tourism board when I spoke to them!
GB sticker - go magnetic
Headlamp deflectors.

In other words a 50 quid trip to halfords!

Documents .... I've always been led to believe they must be the ORIGINAL's incl v5, ins, mot & driving licence

Ye, you see the odd muppet wear theirs in tehecar, not sure if they are confused like JG was on topgear or they have a very dry sense of humour.

We had hi-viz parties in tribute to the French - but then again it was the Essex chapter of the Cobra replica club!
