Hi Gang,

Already posted a few times here but, as a newbie I know quite a few of you whom have found me Stateside (yes, I'm a bloddy colonist).

I have a 71 911 that has been totally RS'd

...and I'm building a 914-6/GT as accurately as possible.

I restore calipers for my fellow Porschephiles back in the states and, I've even managed to send a few to your side of the pond.

I'm just a Porsche geek and I like helping out with any vintage caliper questions so feel free to ask and I'll chime in.

The goal with both my cars is to be as accurate to the original plan as possible. The 911 will vary a bit by having a 3.0MFI motor as I feel that's a rock solid block to build off. It has factory Recaro shells, factory flares and all of the bits that came on that car. I did an aluminium rear control arm conversion that I'd like to take back to steel. I want to get some RS stiffening pieces and do them up right (are you listening Alan?) :D

The 914-6/GT will have a twin plug 2.5 (currently living in the 911 while I build the 3.0) and I've been collecting all of the GT goodies over the years. Some of my recent finds are the French lenses (you can see above) and some original Koni rear shocks with the externally adjustable valving. I'm trying to have everything fold together by the end of June but... it's moving slowly.

Shout out to all my friends here... Andy, Rod, Moggy, Alan. Looking forward to hanging with you all.

I'm the smiley one in the center (no... not her!)

Welcome! Great cars and looks like you'll have an invaluable knowledge of all things calipers

Thanks for the welcome Guys!

Here's a few more of the GT.

It started out like this. A very clean California tub. I welded the flare on but, that was the end of it for me. I needed a good fabricator to finish the rest:

Factory bar fab'ed:

The enitre tub was blasted with baking soda:

And eventually squirted:

This is where it sits now. Harvey Weidman built a full set of RSR wheels for it and it's resting on Goodyear Bluestreaks:

Hi Eric,

Interesting to hear this, I am having a 2.5 twin spark built for mine. I would be interested to hear the spec of yours.

Cheers,
