From what I've read only the C cars came with factory mounts for belts - and these were for fronts??

What about belts in the rear - anyone got any, that they could share details of, or have a link to a pic of some or know of a kit available?

I'll be interested to see what you find regarding rear seat belts in an A ... gather it's not a straight forward solution

That should work fine until the young fella is old enough to ring Childline.

I have been looking into installing lap belts and will use securing plates with the bolt welded in the middle and then a short eye bolts for the belts to attach to.

Of course the position is crucial as you need to be able to have the rear seat still able to fold down without them clashing.

I recently sent an email to Willans as i use harnesses for the front and could then use the shoulder straps in either configuration plus I have been looking at a kit in Ebay which would cost about £80 for two lap belts with fitting kits althouhg this would not work with the willans harnesses.

If I make progress I will update you all.

I have got a 1958 that has rear seat belts, they are only lap belts but work fine, my kids are 13 and 17 and it works for them.

The belts can also be un hooked and a full racing harness clipped in place instead.

The fronts are 3 point inertia seat belts.

Roger Bray supplied and fitted the above items if that helps too.

A company called Greenpower sell pukka race harnesses for kids made by TRS, they are easily installed in 356 and work well with or without a booster seat. They are in Sussex and made electric racecar kits for schools, to be encouraged! Highly recommended. W

I presume there are just the 2 inch squared plates on the back of the eyes ?

I think I will use a similar location but and am going to have the lap belt also double as a 4 point harness using the existing main belts that I would use when driving with no passengers in the back.

So the kids will be ultra safe when I have them in the car and when not then I will have the full harness for the two front seats.

All the best and very jealous about the Monaco trip - I am looking forward to Le Mans Classic but would love to do a proper road trip - just got to convince the Mrs!!!
