Dash Switch Identification

Hello all,

I've picked up these switches with a bunch of spares that came with the 356. They are similar to porsche/vw although dont seem that sturdy quality wise. The interesting one is the windscreen washer pump combined with wiper switch.

Anyone know if they are original - if so what model porsche (or even early VW?) or perhaps aftermarket ones? There are no markings other than the numbering for the terminals and an 'HE' moulded in one of them.

Thanks

John

Welcome to 356 ownership, if you havent already got one then a great place to sink £15 quid or so would be on the Restorer's guide to Authenticity by Dr B Johnson, in fact Greg on here is selling one now http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26983

They don't look 356, but to answer your question more fully I'm afraid I dont know VWs and I've no idea what they're actually from, cubist on here is a mind of VW information, he might be able to chime in...

I'm afraid none of those are 356. 356 knobs don't have any markings on them and are either black or ivory (depending on year). For a '60 B I think they will have been a plain black, '59 A are ivory.
Probably '70s VW or something similar.

Thanks guys. I was pretty certain that they were not 356 but wondered if they were an alternative model.

They dont look like any VW ones i've come across (although my knowledge of very early stuff is limited), and from the feel of them they are certainly not up to the normal vw/porsche quality.

So perhaps a cheap aftermarket set (quite why these would be produced i don't know) or something even more random

Are there no manufacturer or other stampings on the cases at all?
