Apologies.

We had a table or two crash but we're back to normal now.

Thanks for keeping with us.

Luckily I was abroad for two days so didn't miss much. Otherwise I would have been twitching! :)

However, bear with us still as they may be infrequent error messages appearing for a little while. I'm mining the depths of the data!

"Thankfully" I've been busy at work for the last 2 days, otherwise it could have been a disaster

For some rason I seem to be banned from the forum, on my computer - I've deleted all the cache etc and browsing history, but still have the problem - I am accessing this page from my blackberry - so don't quite understand what's going on - anyone else have a similar problem or have I really been banned ? ( Hope not ! )

Thanks

Interesting!

I had to ban a couple of IP addresses as they were keeping too many (literally a hundred) open connections with the database and this was causing critical database errors so can only sumise that your IP address was one of them.

Who is your ISP on your computer?

Hi bootsy,

I'm not entirely sure - I'm using a work pc connected to the internet via their isp - if it helps my proxy address is

Defrceprx01.uk.eurw.ey.net .... Does that help in any way ?

Should be ok now. However, your IP address is acting in a strange way and leaving open connections on nearly every part of the forum, this contributes to the critical erroes we receive.

In future could you log out when you've finished using the forum and I will monitor it.

Thanks

I'm sorry if I've had something to do with the downtime - I'll try and make sure I log out when I've finished my session. - sorry again

It must be something to do with the way you are accessing the web. Your IP address leaves multimple connections open and as soon as I unbanned it I got critical erroes again.

It leaves open connections across every forum title and these number about 60-100.

I'm afraid I may have to reban it if it continues as it's effecting the server performance and increasing errors.

There was another IP address doing this also today.

We have to be vigilant. Server attacks are rife at the moment and taking down a lot of sites and forums.

Sorry, going to have to reban IP address 145.62.32.129

If it's your DISCO then it's a variable address but it's just opened some 300 plus connections and is killing the server.
