Built it myself
1776cc VW type 1
forged counterweighted crank
Engle 110 camshaft
CNC ported big valve heads
Mallory distributor
Twin Weber IDF 40 carburettors
I had it rolling road tuned and it is currently making 80bhp at the flywheel at 4000revs.

Congrats on the car it looks awesome.

Love the exhaust system too, did you make that yourself and whats it like to live with? I was thinking of something similar for my speedster but i'm concerned about the noise levels.

How have you resolved the heating issue for the IVA test?

The exhaust is made from two pairs of performance 'J' tubes and individual parts from Jetex. It only just passed the SVA limit of 102db but it wasn't running well at the time and is much quieter now its been tuned up. You may be okay for IVA limit which is lower I think. The neighbours do know I'm around! Demisters are made from morris minor plenums linked to two 12v travel hair driers with silicone hose; it passed without comment
