Hello, looking for my next project maybe thinking of a 356. First thing what to pay?. What to look for rust wise etc.
Also what are the best models, years ?.
I am after a average one that needs work.
Any advice more than welcome.
Please feel free, to move topic to right area. If I posted it in the wrong one?.

might be better asking in the 356 area.
which is best depends what you intend doing with it.
taking back to original then for retailing its value your best with an earlier one.
for outlawing or modifying then go for a C or a late B as tend to be cheaper.

Go for the model you like most and start from there.
What to pay? Depends on the condition/spec/year of the car. For example a sunroof always adds a bit, so does right hand drive if you want it.
If you are looking to restore and need parts, then the later cars are easier, cheaper and more plentiful.
Rust is everywhere on these cars. Check the door/bonnet gaps (should be an even 3mm all the way round and flush with the body), they are a good sign of what condition the car is in and how much it's been messed with.

Thanks, will keep looking out for the right one now. Looking for a B 60's a solid base one that needs some work. As we are moving around the new year looking around then.
I did see one for £9k?. I am looking to keep it original or put it back to.
