C2C - Saturday Morning - NEW UPDATED START TIMES FOR ALL

UPDATE

For those of you staying in the hotel @ Newby Bridge, please note the following :

Breakfast is now available from 7.30am

St Bees is just over 1 hour away

Due to the nature of the roads in the Lake District I have decided we need to have a 'staggered release' of cars from our meeting place .... this should make your trip through the lakes a much more pleasant experience.

Image

So what I need is approx 8 groups of 5 cars , each leaving St Bees at a specific time.

Please could you let me know, by adding your name & car below, which slot you want to be in .

Some of the groups will have 'guide cars' .... cars which know their way through the lakes ..... so if you are slightly unsure about navigating through the Lakes make sure you select one of these groups. These Guide cars are only there to help with the run through to Ambleside.

For those of you staying in the hotel @ Newby Bridge, please note St Bees is just over 1 hour away .... bare this in mind when deciding which slot you want ;) Ideally arrive with plenty of time to spare.

If you want an earlier or later start then you are free to do so ...... the aim of this is just to make sure there isn't a convoy of 35 - 40 cars trying to get over the Hardknott pass at the same time .... that would be a nightmare  .... remember, with these passes, the earlier the better so you don't end up meeting too much traffic coming towards you.

I will be parked at the exit of the carpark controlling the release of cars to ensure each group has plenty of time between them & to ensure the groups don't bunch up on Hardknott / Wrynose.

I'll join the 9:30 departure as well if that's OK?

Although I have a 3hr drive to get there in the first place I will try and be on time! :)

I am pretty flexible and would be happy to go with any group although a guided one sounds good to me.

I would rather take it a bit easy as I found the roads around the lakes deceptively dodgy when I was up there earlier in the year and the views are fantastic and deserve a good look too.

put Lazza and i down for an early start.

we'll be in a 356 (or 2) so proberly will be doing a slightly more sadate pace than some of the rest of you.

we might well set off at about 8-8.30am in order to beat the sightseers. we know these roads reasably well so don't need a guide (famous last words  ) if anyone want to join us they will be most welcome.
we might well take a slightly gentler route than the rest of you as we'll be running in the newly rebuilt engine in the 356c :P
