Pre-A Headlight?

I'm trying to identify whether the headlight below is the correct style for a Pre-A car. It came from a '54 Beetle, but I have been told that '53-'54 Beetle units are the same as pre-A's? It is a hella unit, date-staped 1954, has the pre-1956 lens with no 'A' and 'NL' markings either side of the Hella logo. The chrome rim has the pre-1955 single rivet for the tab at the bottom. Any input would be appreciated....

in that case i'll take 2.
not really used the ragtop much since i got back from HO, i will be making some changes as soon as my oldspeed engine is built,
how did the 47 run to HO

47 ran perfectly there and back, but the dynamo bearings were starting to 'complain' on the way home so I'll have to get around to doing that soon. Didn't really get to have a good look over your car- will be good to see it again.

wish i had the money for the 47 at the time, its a beautiful car, the 4 is the magic number, i suppose the next time the 50 will be out is stanford hall.
