So, I did. And I think it's a lovely little car.
I've not interest in the car or Chicane Classics, I'm just a nosey onlooker so take all this with a pinch of salt. This is probably ill-informed, un-educated comment but I'll tell it as I see.

It looked like a good solid, RHD car.
Paint was good, sills rust free and sound underneath.
The engine looked correct and presented with no leaks.
Apparently there's some evidence of Autofarm doing work to the engine and mechanics.
I didn't drive the car or check the provenance and paperwork but it looked like a great car to use and abuse.
I noticed a small area of bubbling around one corner of the sunroof aperture but overall its very rust free for a RHD. The wheels were well finished too, no kerbing and correctly anodised. All brightwork and door/window frames were excellent.
The car has Recaro sports seats in place (black with corduroy inserts).

All in all a very desirable colour combination and pretty rare in RHD.
I'd say about the right money and at least £10-15k less than an equivalent 'S' in that condition. 'E's look like good value to me.
Well worth a look.

This is a car that Alan and I did a lot of restoration work to in 2005, converting it from a poor RS rep, including retrimming the interior and fitting the Sports seats, a respray in Tangerine and detailing the motor.

They could have cleaned it.....

Hi,

I remember that car now. I bought it from a RAF pilot that brought it back into the UK (from the US) when he was posted back here.

It was supplied with an original engine lid and looked much better just swapping the lid and removing the scripts.



Before it was a painted etc I also remember once taking it to Husbourne and bumping into it's twin !
