My car is off to PRS next month for annual MOT/fettling (that's "fettling" Cubist!!!). While it's there I'm having the brakes and suspension rebuilt. Plan for the suspension is swap over to adjustable Konis and reduce the ride height a bit - also fit a slightly thicker ARB to tighten things up a little. Has anyone here got any tips on how low to go without compromising the overall ride too much? I would like to lower it enough to give a more sporting feel, but not make it rock hard.

I know Paul will be able to advise, but I'll be interested in any ideas from here as well.

'Low as' in my garage! Paul will advise you otherwise i'm guessing... lengthened slot on my front beam for a 4" drop and it transformed it. 2 outer splines rotation on the rear and the sebring drags under hard bootings... just right then. Have just purchased dropped spindles from BFY which means I can now wind the front up a touch and return a little more bounce to my flounce...

(I have however whacked a sodding crack into my case over a local level crossing and am now building another engine to replace it... so low as you like if your local geography allows it )

Sensible reply from cubist. Unless you know every hump and bump you might just regret the decision. I'm old fashioned I admit it, but once on the road trying to get the sporty feel out of a 50 year old car you will never stop doing something else once you lower it. Your car looked just great at Goodwood when I saw it. For the time, Erwin did a good job in the first place.

I remember thinking Sunbeam Talbot 90's were low in the 50's when my uncle drove them but when I saw the 356 also during that decade I never thought a car could get much lower!

It still looks side on the best where it is! ( of course all in MHO !!!!!)
