HELP, DATABASE FOR LHD OR RHD

Hi everyone, 
Wonder if anyone can help me,
Looking at buying a 73 -911, chassis and engine numbers add up, but i would like to check that it is an original rhd car. log book says first registered in 89? so a bit dubious has it been converted, imported or written off. dont want to travel several hundred miles to be let down.
Anyone no if theres a database to find out its origin, left right etc
