356a running in

Just got back from USA. Collected the 356a from Rob Grant of Emory. Total engine rebuild, including big bore, fast cam. 741 trans, 'c' discs alround suspension and brakes totally rebuilt. Taking it easy as running in, but it really wants to shift. Having lots of fun in the Onion fields Oregon.
Met Gary Emory (Mr Outlaw himself)and took counsel from him and his body guy. Maybe going black with bomber brown leather with tan carpet. Will be done in US before shipping to UK later in year

Great news! You must be over the moon. I'm planning to have my brakes/ susoension rebuilt this year and then start engine rebuild next year, so can imagine how pleased you must be to get yours back!!
Colour scheme sounds cool too - have they shown you any other cars already finished in same style? Post some photos if you have some - will be great inspiration for those of us still trying to get ours done!
Anyway, many congrats and keep having fun. I'd love to see it when it is back in UK.

I do have plenty of pics from the Emory place all sorts of cool race/outlaw 356s and also visited Route 30 classics the owner has a black 356 pre a but with red interior. Will try to post pics when I figure out how!!

Some better sounds for you. If you need engine specs let me know, it is not running a Elgin cam, a better one, the clicks you hear as I brake are of the 12 volt converter switching on the grill and below bumper brake lights. The thing is just so low!!. Also was not advised not to take it over 3500rpm during the running in period (500 miles)thats when the beast kicks in.

Good news on your car, I am thinking of going black, i thought originally slate grey, but i am now vering towards black.
I too am going bomber brown, but waxed to give it a real vintage look.
Oat meal carpets.
De bumpered, fuch wheels, speedster buckets, c discs all round. Andy Prill, 120bhp engine. re jigged gear box to give lots of low down torque with 4th kicking in around 80.

Hoping to have car all finished by end of May, at least that is the prediction by Roger Bray, so if that is the case then definetely going to Hedingham.
