DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

In my second home - the garage, I have a fairly serious sound system, it's a 120 watt Technics set up into B & W speakers. I do like to crank it up a bit when I've got the old welding torch blazing and I was wondering what all of you listen to when wrenching on the ole 356. Just for starters, one band that is never far from my turntable or whatever they have in CD machines is Led Zeppelin. No quarter and Kashmir - just awesome. But I'm a closet jazzer as well and listen to R3 or Classic FM at work. Well it's good reception is'nt it. What's yer fancy?

I`m a radio four fan and if the news was cancelled due to lack of interest, 94.4 would be my perfect wavelength. It`s extraordinary, the diversity on offer but not as extraordinary as my seeming lack of ability to absorb any of this amazing output, longterm. I`ve spent 30 years listening to Radio 4 in an assortment of workshops and it seems that, along with the politics and religion, all those facinating factual programs have gone in one ear and straight out the other. I have always hoped that by constant exposure to cleverness, I would, by some form of osmosis, become , over time, well..... become clevererer. I think that punctuating the broadcasts with usually short but usually ear shattering bursts machine noise doesn`t help with continuety or provide the ideal learning environment. By the way, I saw the Count Arthur Strong live show last week... a truely bizarre happening.

Sometimes I turn over to Radio 2 if there`s a chance that ask Elvis might be on. He`s a really clever fella.

Correct. Retune to 94.4 before you start discussing the price of sugar beet or buying carpets from some barn or other.

I start my day with Radio 1 then at twelve its off to London live on ninety four point nine, Robert Elms followed by Danny Baker, then at five its back to Radio 1 , Scott Mills followed by Zane Lowe then its off to Radio two with Stuart Maconey and Mark Radcliff for the drive home, saturdays are mostly Radio two,

As a student , late night revision etc was helped along by Mark & Lard on Radio1. Mark always suited the evening / late night slots & should never have been moved day-time

My sounds from the garage is always Zane Lowe. It's the only time I get to listen as otherwise it clashes with catching up on series linked episodes of Neighbours...

My car music is currently a variety of squeaks and rattles overlaid with the dulcet tones of a cold flat six

Oh man, just seen The Boat That Rocks at the local fleapit. You'll love this film, took me back to parking out at Sheerness and flashing headlights at ten listening to Johnie Walker. Where you there? It was a revolution.

i've not listened to radio since Radio Caroline sank.

I tend to use the 'listen again' on 6 music
