Hi, does anyone have any pics. of early cars on 16'' fuchs, or any opinions as to the appearance.

My 1970 long wheelbase 911 sits on 16" wheels with Pirelli P7 rubber but I think a short wheelbase 911 would look better on 14 or 15" wheels.

As well as Fuchs, early cars like this 912 can look great with steel wheels

or Gasburners

..... I think the early cars ( & I also include early Impact Bumpers ) look much better on 15's

I think early LWB cars look good on 16's (suitably backdate-detailed), but only if you are heading for a slightly R-Gruppe look. Nevertheless, you absolutely can't go wrong with 15's. I put 16's on the Gulf Blue car as they cropped up at the right price and in nice original condition. (I couldn't find / afford 15's at the time). They certainly looked rather more authentic than the 11in wide BBS-a-likes that were on there before

I rather liked the look of the lower profile tyre, and at the time one thing that I wasn't going to be a slave to was originality. BTW, I did make an error with my tyres, in that I ended up with (I think) either 45 or 50 profile tyres front and rear. As the rears were 7in, and the fronts 6's, this meant the front tyre should have had a taller profile to balance the look. Oh well, I'll know for next time

Despite the above picture, the car was actually very low, so that the rear tyres filled the arches nicely: I think that the fact that I seemed to have dumped the car halfway up a bank doesn't help it's stance in the above picture ....

My yellow Targa.......sorry Helens yellow Targa..... is on ( replica ) 16's and i was never 100% happy with the look or stance , and consequently was always on the look out for some 15's to put it back onto
