'61 B Front Brake Drum Damage

Just been investigating a once-per-turn scuffing noise in my near side front brake. On removal of drum found edge of drum (as suspected) rubbing backplate. The edge has cracked circumferencially (?) off over about half of the drum and come adrift. Otherwise the drum looks fine and having removed the offending piece went back on (I have no spare) and now doesn't rub. Is this common/serious/indicative of other snags?????? the other side shows no sign of any fault.

Also, I fancy fitting 20mm spacers between the wheels and drums as on the S90 GTs so: Does anyone know of a source of extra long studs? How are the studs removed/refitted to the drums?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I fitted longer studs to mine - there are various different lengths available so just pick some that have the same extra as the spacers you wish to run.
its easy to press out the old ones and knock in the new.
