Its Kingstown shipping 01482 374116. I had to chase them a bit at one point, but very good after that. They came recommended by Alan UK.

They are good guys :-
If you use them, the car will probably come into Chatham Docks
Either - have them deliver it
or
Collect it yourself
or
Have it collected by someone who knows the model you are importing
This gives you a chance to check the vehicle over for damage and make your claim BEFORE acceptance
If using someone to collect it - make yourself available on the end of a phone
thanks

Is it still £50 flat duty fee for a private import?

It was 50 quid in august. You only pay the higher rate if you are trading the vehicle on as I understand.

I just want to add that I have used Kingston for my one and only import (914-6) almost a year ago, and they were excellent.
They looked after all the paperwork, customs, etc. from start to finish and the whole process was 'hassle free'.
I was severely late picking my car up from the docks after being constantly held up in traffic accident tailbacks, after traveling all the way down to Felixstowe from Durham. It looked like I was going to miss the warehouse closing time by an hour or so, so it looked like I wouldn't be able to get my car that day. Kingston liaised with me and the warehouse by phone on the latter part of my journey and even convinced them to stay open late until I arrived. It saved me an overnight stay and another day's travelling. Great guys!
Slight word of warning on the £50 flat rate duty. It is only supposed to be for private imports and usually first vehicle only, as Customs suspect you are 'trading' after that! However, after speaking to others who have used Kingston, they seem to manage it most times!!
Best of luck.
Kevin
