Motivation please

Post by Dakota »

Hi All
I have an A coupe that has been gathering dust for some time now, it has been raced and sprinted for most of its life and has a C gearbox and brakes and a 912 motor and not much of an interior, a few years back, well eight or so, I had the bright idea of pulling the motor out and a few other parts to improve it..... thats as far as it got. I am looking for a target to aim for as the other day a good friend and motor head suggested entering it in a hill climb or similar, any suggestions anyone, I think its a shame just to have it tucked away.
yours Bill.

Have a look at http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23580 and decide the first one to enter.
356's and 912's have a 5% advantage in class P4 that would make a quick 356A an attractive proposition :bom:

Cheers! :drunken:

I've seen several events mentioned on DDK including

Le Jog (sometime in November each year I think)
Three Castles
Harewood Hill Climb
plus the one JW has linked to
etc

Or as Helen says aim for a DDK trip - there is the C2C tour in the members area (this September) or maybe Classic Le Mans in 2010?

CLM 2010 is the goal for my A coupe  :)

An A coupe slghtly lightened with a 741 box ...especially if its the 12 bolt diff and a hot 912 engine with good setup is a pretty competitive piece of 50s car.
You'll have a blast :)

Hi all
it is Bob Chapmans old car and it still features a dent on the front wing where someone dropped a barrel on it, I wouldn't mind a hill climb but maybe the Le Mans trip next year is more realistic as I have a lot of catching up to do with paying stuff including another A coupe that needs floors, sills, rear inner wings etc etc and it would be good to get that one done soon too, ho hum maybe I should flog it but it is a laugh to whizz about in.
