You know, if you took the front wings off it, it looks a lot like a DC3 - maybe that's where they got the styling from

Greg looking at Higs 51 split screen its the first time I have seen a RHD version since sitting in the seat of my brothers 51 chassis 10964 engine 20620. His car was fish silver changed finally to light metalic blue in 1976.
His car was originally LH drive but converted to RHD by a previous owner. My brother located one of the last genuine RHD 356 dash panels from AFN and fitted it complete with its Telefunken working radio.
The car had also been converted to ATE disc's! but seemed very heavy in operation to me and we changed the non-syncro box ( worn out ) to a 52 syncro from our 52 car.
How I wished he had kept that car. We think it went to Japan?? Does anyone have 10964 sold in around 76? He bought the car for £110- in 1967.
I ought to put some photos of that car on the forum.

Hi Roy.
Do you mean this car. I was told by someone who has done a lot of research into PreAs that this was shipped to Japan.

Hi Roy
Thats me in Greg's car last yr
It is Irradium Green I think ... Great car . It has unusually not got a radio but does a most unusual original radio blanking panel .
Its bumper is part of the coachwork unlike the blue one above.
These cars are very different inside and have a lot of wood trim. His runs on a set of hi-comp pistons and is never sluggish on club drives having no problem keeping up with the bs and cs.

Hey Hendrik and Hig,
1). That was my my brothers car UAH146 !! I haven't seen a new photo of it since 1976 !!! Where was that taken? The windscreen wiper position was always wrong although we were never sure about that then. You can see the front bonnet has the wrong lifting handle also. I think now the previous owners in the early 60's changed the bumpers and other items to bring it up to date. It did keep the early square glass rear reflectors though!
His car had the original engine uprated from 1300 to 1500cc. When he sold it I think for just over £1,000 he thought he did well. If only he had put it into a barn and covered it up!!!!!!!!!
We also were told it went to Japan but its never surfaced to my knowledge many thanks for that photo, I will put some on that I have of UAH146.
2). Hig, That car with you in it is just great!!! I love the colour and if it looks as good in the flesh as it does in the picture what a super car!!
No chance now of ever seeing one now for a a hundred quid! The 52 coupe chassis 11789 we bought for even less and thats gone also.
Oh dear, the things you do without carefully thinking about it.
