Cobra RS seats – anyone actually bought/seen them?

A lot of people talked about them when I made my original post, but not sure if anyone ever bought any or have seen them. I'm interested in using a pair in my (cough, cough) Beetle but would welcome some 'hands-on' feedback before I commit either way. Thanks!

Contact Timo he bought a pair. I had a quick look at them last Sunday, I thought the looked good value for money.

Yep, I have a pair ready to go into my 912. They are well made and very comfortable plus they are pretty darn light too (8kg each!). The only issues I've had are:
a) when I went to collect my seats one of them had a slightly loose fitting section in the vinyl, I pointed this out to them and they fixed it immediately (whilst I waited - 5 mins)
b) the captive nuts in the base of one seat did not line up with the laser cut adaptors they supplied me. Again they were very helpful here and supplied me with some new adaptors which they drilled specially to fit my seat base.
I think if you want to spend a lot more money you could get a slightly better finished seat from somewhere like vintage seats but for me the cobra seats tick all the boxes and the price means I won't be afraid to sit in them.
I hope this helps, if you need any more specific info let me know.

I received a pair the other week. Now fitted and they look great. Installed they are a little higher than I would like though. Looking to get a tilt frame for the pax side to access the back. Top stuff for the money and they don't look cheep 8)

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered some from Merlin Motorsport. They arrived the next day and I have to say I am very impressed with the design and construction...

BUT

When I unpacked the two seats, they have been trimmed in two slightly different types of vinyl! One is a matt-grained finish, the other a more normal smoother, slightly shiny vinyl. Sh*t. E-mailed Merlin and await a reply...

Nice seats, though. :(

That's a shame, It puts a downer on getting something new when it's not quite right but I'm sure they'll sort it.
I'm quite tempted to get some. We should have tried a group buy
