Hi all,

I have received from Mike some nice pic's of his 55 356 Cab. Not the completed car of course but some of the stages it is going through. I am on his approval posting them for you to look at. It should be noted "Sportwagen 356" have been heavily involved in the panelwork and wow! does it look good. They even fabricated the tunnel which you will see in one photo.

For me, I just love looking at a transformation of chassis/ bodywork and understand just how difficult it can be to do it. I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates good metalworkers. The large front repair bulkhead
he bought off e-bay for $1,710. Just how many of those are still around!!!

He has also forwarded me some pic's of his 356 Carrera he used to own a few years ago and some of his current UUL 442 356A that Jim Clark started his career on and he is part owner of. These photos I will post as a seperate thread.

1). A long way to go:

I recognise Mike Smith & Barry Curtis but who's the guy with the beard on the far lhs - he looks familiar ?

From left to right Bill and Anita Stephens, Adam Richardson, Mike Smith, ?, John Hearn, ?, ? Barry Curtis.

Bill owns a 1500 km unrestored time warp 904 which he has very generously allowed me to measure and photograph on a couple of occasions

Cool photos, and a lot of work has gone into that car. If I remember rightly Mike said it had had a B front end grafted on from the windscreen forward! Takes some serious guts to do a project like that.
BTW, next to John Hearn is Tom Peed who has a beautiful A Carrera among others.

Tom Pead is the other 1/2 Owner in the Jim Clark Car

The car that had the wrong Front End on it was my 55 Cab (also pictured above- before we manged to find and graft on a correct one)

There is also a Photo of the NOS Panel, which is a genuine repair panel, offered by Porsche as a replacement part
We were extremly lucky to find it on eBay - Barry Curtis spotted it, listed as a Battery Box and tipped me off, although I did not own the car at that time (just another story)

We should also give credit to Bruce Cooper and his team at Sportwagen 356, Southend
Their work is incredible and we are very lucky to have their dedication to `The Cause`.-
They restored both the Clark car and the 55

We have another 2-cars lined up for them

A Public - THANK YOU - to Roy for posting the photos that people keep asking me about

I never find the time to complete everything I am supposed to be doing - let alone teach myself the intricacies of posting Pics
