Finally its Blue !

After ten years my 356 is finally is proper colour- Aetna Blue !
I sprayed it this weekend.
Saturday was so cold, the door dried matt !
Thankfully Sunday was milder, so I was able to get it done.
Its cellulose so I'm pretty made up it came out so well. Bit of hassle over the cold making condensation in the airline though, and not much room to move around the car. Here's a pic....
Hopefully it won't be another ten years before the mechanics get done ..

That just looks so lovely. Well done and good luck with the rebuild. Probably a good idea to wait for a couple of weeks before you try nibbing any dust out.

Nice one glad you got some paint on but your mad doing in this cold weather..but I bet you feel 10 times better now it's seen some paint

hi-
Yes, My folks are moving so I will be loosing the space hence getting my arse in gear ( 300 mile trip to the garage to work on it )- thankfully my inlaws have agreed to take it over (Whitely. Portsmouth- its third move)
So it was a bit of a mad rush to get things done. Now it means I can assemble in a heated garage !
I had a swatch made up of the paint on monday, then took the swatch to a local paint factors who did a class job of matching it in a cellulose system.
The picture is a bit flattering, but in general 'its done'. Not sure what the proper amount of paint is to use but its had three decent coats over 2k filler primer ( which I cant recommend enough). Should be more than enough to flatten back with 1200 W+Dry.
It was such a rush I literally ran out of light on Sunday (4pm) just as I finished cleaning the gun, so I havent had a chance to see how its dried, or even have time to spend an hour admiring it.
next up- hanging the door, and fitting engine ...

Give me a bell when You bring it down I will come over and you can come and see the Pre A.......
I could poss help you out abit if your inlaws have my silver 912 you can use the space in the work shop for your 356...

well done on getting the paint on!! I'm up the road , in Pompey, 356 now on the road - if u need to look at anything just holler!
Spect u know - celly will sink over time - prob best to leave the flat and pollish as long as possible.
