Hi
Would you keep these mirrors or go with something else, maybe the GT/carrera aerodynamic mirror i have seen on some cars?

Lose the mirrors! A pillar peep mirror or a GT rep perhaps...

umm i don't mind them.
infact the 356a i just bought used to have mirrors there But they were a diffrent style else i would offer to swop for the more traditional ones that are currently fitted.

I would loose those mirrors and get the original Porsche style Aero or Ponto Mirror for your year car. I have currently got the GT style and had the talbot style but when I look back at the pics of the original, slim, small, stylish Porsche mirror I sometimes wish I had left it alone. I hope your going to put the decals back like the picture and get the paint done in a slight satin finish so it dont look over restored. Very cool.

Does anyone havea link or picture of these "spider mirrors" I have a similar mirror (white to match the car I guess??) on my '54 and I am NOT a fan. I'm looking for something different to go with.

Here's Karmann Konnection's version:
& here's a 'Spyder' mirror fitted on a 911-engined 356 outlaw:

Your mirror looks rather like a Walpres Speedmaster - if you check the top of the housing there should stamped 'Walpres 30560' enclosed within a circle.
If it is, its rare and valuable.

I guess I better have a closer look at that when I get home.
Either way I don't like it and want something different.
