Some years ago I used to own a RHD 356 - about 10 years ago - and sold it - it was right hand drive, ruby red. the reg was either XUS 180 or XUS 150, cant remember....
Anyway -I was just wondering if anyone on here knew anything about it or if it had re-surfaced. it was an OK car at the time, not brilliant, but pretty reliable, so I would hope its still on the road..
thanks

Just had a look on the DVLA database and can't find anything. Are you sure the reg number is right?

Hi -
Yes pretty sure, although I do remember now, that after selling it I had a letter from an insurance company mentioning something about it being stolen from the new owner and asking me for some details - cant remember what now!
just out of interest can you please send me a link to the dvla database? - is it open to all or do you need to be an insider?
thanks
Joe

Nothing on my lists - but the Chassis number is really what we need
I know, I know ------ few of us can remember them!

so I just found some old pictures of my car - it isnt XUS 150 it was XUS185
checked on the DVLA and it seems to have been off the road for some time, which ties into the 'theft' theory....
anyone know anything about it?

Just because it hasn't been registered since 1999 doesn't mean it has disappeared. In fact I would have thought that DVLA would amend their records to show it as stolen.

The last reference I have to this 356 was a photo of it in Porsche Post Winter 1972 - Page 11 on the 1972 WOTY in Wales

thanks! - I dont suppose you can scan a copy in and post it on the forum can you please?
it would be great to see her again! - even if it was 20 odd years before I owned it!
- I've got some pictures of it coming ( scanned in by jessops ) so will upload them when I get them back on Monday/Tuesday - but to see her in print would be cool.

I think I still have "winter 1972 " porsche post. I will photo the page if I have got it and put it on for you. Then if Mike's unable to scan it you might have something to look at. ( I will check tomorrow )

So below is a picture of your car and owners taken at the WOTY (weekend of the year) PCGB 1972 event. ( Picture by Bill Bates ) I think its amazing Mike Smith found that amongst all the Porsche Posts!!! I can only tell you the meeting was in Wales and some interesting people like Denis Jenkinson and Bill Boddy of Motor sport were there to see also "Babs" the Parry Thomas car under restoration. I saw this car at last years Goodwood revival driving around the track.
Nio reference to the owners of your car but if you have the buff log book and look for the 1972 era then you never know they might give you more info if you wrote to them. All pictures then in the post were black and white!
